Malco.tsc (Power Room) Start.tsc (main file) While the actual mod itself was edited enough that it's difficult to tell that they are the same when playing, as soon as you open up the script files that drive everything, the copy becomes plainly obvious: The best example of this is the "Boss Rush" mod: It's actually based on a mod released at the end of 2006 on the forums. These mods were applied in such a lazy way that the original translation still lurks within the files, except where the player can actually venture or speak in those cases, the updated translation has been pasted over. What a lot of people don't actually know about the game is that the "mods" that were provided appear to be lifted wholesale from community mods, with no credit readily apparent. The original translation by Aeon Genesis wasn't used because of an inability on Nicalis's part to get licensing done to use it, so they went with their own and tossed the old one out, which gave us such lines like Balrog's " OH YEAAAH!" and other gems. They take the indie-favorite Cave Story, slap on some shiny new graphics and music, and re-translate the story from the ground up. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creeschĬave Story + (and its brethren, Cave Story Wii and the OS X port) are games released by Nicalis over the last few months./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors. ![]() Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
